Elaine is a sales trainer and business coach for the Growth Accelerator, the follow on programme from the Northwest High Growth initiative managed by Winning Pitch. This £10 m investment provides business support to high growth businesses in the Northwest.
Rochdale High Street Regeneration Programme
EJS is heavily involved in the Rochdale High Street Regeneration programme, through the Rochdale Borough High Street Foundation. The objective is to stimulate growth and turn the High Street into a destination.
The town’s heritage is being harnessed to help achieve this – arts, music, pop up shops, continental visitor markets and children’s markets.
Specifically, EJS has undertaken one to one mentoring for retailers and held marketing workshops for retailers in Middleton and Rochdale. This has included training in visual merchandising, marketing communications and other techniques to return footfall to the High Street.
Elaine has also been heavily involved with the Love Rochdale loyalty scheme, helping to devise the communications plan, promoting it to the retailers and engaging their participation.
Work has also been undertaken to promote the night time economy of the borough, encouraging people to visit the town centre in the evenings, after work.
EJS has also been working with schools and Hopwood College, running focus groups across the borough making students aware of the facilities and encouraging students to go into Rochdale rather than elsewhere.
University of Salford
On behalf of the University’s Business & Enterprise department Elaine is working with graduates who are interested in establishing their own businesses. This involves one to one mentorship support, networking workshops and a 2 day boot camp for new entrepreneurs.
